We are a 501(c)3 non-profit PATH International Therapeutic Riding Center providing Hippotherapy or treatment with the help of the horse. Warmth plus motion can teach the rider's brain how to walk and so much more! To see our Pilot Program team in action visit YouTube, then type Northwoods Adventure Hippotherapy into search window. We worked with a licensed Physical Therapist (PT), 2 PATH International Therapeutic Riding Instructors and trained volunteers. The program relocated in November 2017 in order to expand. Long-term goals include a covered/heated arena with a ramp or lift plus the addition of horses to accommodate larger/older riders. Currently services are being provided in the barn ("In barn therapy") and we look forward to moving to the outdoor arena this spring. Through HIppotherapy or In Barn therapy we are here to improve the quality of life for individuals with special needs in central Minnesota through Equine Assisted Activities and Therapies (EAAT).
