Animal-Assisted Interventions: Updated Applications for Well-Bei
The field of Animal-Assisted Interventions (or animal-assisted therapy) gained popular recognition in the 1980's and there have been many advances learned in the last 30 years. Join us for an overview of a rapidly growing modality incorporated in a wide variety of settings. In addition to the common sites such as nursing homes and hospitals, human-animal intervention teams are present in schools, mental health facilities, correctional units, and community-based outreach programs. We will examine history and theory in the field, practical application considerations, and how you can accomplish a higher standard of service. More information »

Join author Leif Hallberg, "Walking the Way of the Horse", as we explore the fundamental aspects of working with horses to deliver equine-assisted mental health and learning programs. No matter your experience, you will gain insight into equine behaviors, the myths and terms in the field, and how to expand your relationship to a higher level.
