AQHA Minnesota Summer Show
The AQHA Minnesota Summer Show will be held July 30 through August 1. This show will be held indoors at Red Horse Ranch Arena. Beautifully trained horses and their riders in their best attire are something everyone enjoys watching. UBRA World Show 2010 & JJ Classic Futurity & Derby

High Island Fest

Family fun day; games, free horseback rides, music, dancing, camping, and more. A variety of vendors will be there offering products and services such as animal communication sessions, essential oils, and leather jewelery. Ranch Cut & Sort Jackpot

Bernice Ende, Lady Long Rider presentation
Bernice Ende, formerly of the Rogers area, will be riding through the area the first two weeks of August. She is scheduled to speak on Weds. Aug. 11 at 7 pm at the Rogers Community Center to the Rocketeers 4H club of which she was a member when she attended Elk River Senior High School (class of 1972). Bernice has ridden 15,000 miles over the last five years from her home in Trego, Montana. She has traveled the western US with her mount,Hart; pack horse, Essie Pearl; and faithful dog, Claire. Red Horse Ranch Arena 6th Annual PRCA Rodeo
The Red Horse Ranch 6th Annual PRCA Rodeo will be held August 12-14, 2010. Thursday is Tough Enough to Wear Pink night, Friday is the Wild Cow Ride, and Saturday is the Mutton Bustin' Finals. Adult admission is $15, youth 6-12 are $8, and 5 and under general admission are free. VIP seating also available. Camping available. Rodeo held opurdoors rain or shine. Bring your lawnchair or a blanket. Lots of good food and venders. Gates open at 5:30 pm and performances are nightly at 8:00pm. Specialty act is the Priefert Percherons. Dance each night. Animal-Assisted Interventions: Updated Applications for Well-Bei
The field of Animal-Assisted Interventions (or animal-assisted therapy) gained popular recognition in the 1980's and there have been many advances learned in the last 30 years. Join us for an overview of a rapidly growing modality incorporated in a wide variety of settings. In addition to the common sites such as nursing homes and hospitals, human-animal intervention teams are present in schools, mental health facilities, correctional units, and community-based outreach programs.
